A four-seater dining set in solid sheesham: one table at 122 cm with four matching chairs. Sized for an apartment dining corner rather than a dedicated dining room, where a six-seater dominates the space and leaves nowhere to pull a chair out.
Why sheesham
Sheesham, or Indian rosewood, is dense and strongly figured, running from golden brown to deep chocolate. That density is what lets a piece carry real weight without bowing, and the grain is pronounced enough that no two are alike. A dining table takes daily use and is the piece most likely to be inherited, so it wants a timber that improves rather than tires.
Living with it
Chairs come with the set but are also sold singly, so a damaged one is replaced rather than the whole set rebought. The top is solid through its thickness and can be sanded back if it is ever marked.
Care
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry at once. Avoid standing water and silicone polish. Sheesham deepens in colour over the first year, which is the timber maturing rather than a fault. Use mats under hot dishes.
