A platform bed in solid teak with a slatted headboard, available in queen and king. The slatted base supports a mattress directly, so no box spring or divan is required.
Why teak
A bed frame takes constant, uneven load and is the piece most likely to develop a creak. Teak is dimensionally stable — it moves very little with humidity — which is what keeps joints tight over years rather than months.
Living with it
The slatted headboard is comfortable to sit against without upholstery, and there is nothing to wear out or restuff.
Care
Dust with a dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Teak needs no polish to survive, though an occasional application of teak oil will keep the colour warm rather than letting it silver. Keep it out of direct sunlight for long periods, which fades any timber.
