Why teak
Teak — sagwan, locally — is the most dimensionally stable hardwood in common furniture use. On a piece this tall and this wide that matters more than anywhere else: a wardrobe that moves with the seasons is a wardrobe whose doors stop closing. The natural oil content is also why teak resists the damp that ruins stored clothes.
Care
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry at once. Avoid standing water and silicone polish. Sheesham deepens in colour over the first year — that is the timber maturing, not a fault.
